blog 6

I think the setting affects the characters by when they are in the mood of scared they just didn't described the setting much. And for a book that has mystery i prefer that it describes the setting because then if they dont than i get lost in the book like i ask my self what happened, where are they and i have to go back and reread the book which confuses me more.I think that the book needs more detail on the back ground. They did describe the setting but  not enough for you to really understand what they are talking about.

I found interesting that the book was not nominated to be the top of the books. Because its really good book with that just gets you. I really think that I would have nominated this book to the top. I really think that the book could have been nominated 1 cause it was just  creative. And 2 cause it was written nicely

Blog 5

I think that the author wrote this story because they wanted the read to feel in like they were really the story. Like they had to figure out the mystery themselves. It a really creative way of writing that I think that most of writers didn't think of writing like that. Just how the author decided to write the book is amazing because i read a lot of books but this actually had my mind 24/7 and i was always wanting to read a different part of the book.  I think that got some peoples attention on read is how you have to pick out how you wanted the book to go by.

I think that the authors lead about the book was alright. The started always started with the same parts and end ended totally differently than you would have expected. I think the author wanted to get the readers attention by writing a book that most people dont find a lot of times and so I think that they were trying to get people to read this book and make them feel like they depend through all the book.

Blog 4 The Mystery of Chimney Rock

I don't really like the main character because it is  based on you  and your chooses. I prefer a book that already has the main character. And that has everything figured out with a climax and plot. I did like the part that you pick the ending. But the beginning is always the same which i like because i already know what my first chose is and then from there it separates to different. And how the book is just detailed every time you pick a different choice is nice.

The thing that capture my attention from the author is the detail writing with a good description dialogue.  Every time someone else started to talk it ends with something new. Like a scream or a cry. I like those books that have lots of dialogue. Like "Look into my eyes," the old woman says to you" I the last part and its just a mystery and you have to read it to know what will happened next and with that it just makes you want to read more and more.

Blog 3 The mystery Chimney rock

I chose “The Mystery Of Chimney Rock” by; Edward Packard because it look like a book that i never read before and it caught what caught my attention in the book was beginning of the first page it was like you were the detective in the story. “Your kidding?” you ask. “If you think we’re kidding,” Michael says “Why don't you go inside?”  If you say,”  I’ll do it,” turn to page 4. If you say “no thanks,” turn to page 6” is what caught my attention. You don't really expect to find most of these but if you read this one you will be  attached to this book. This book is a book that you have to keep focus to under stand. And on thing that really caught my eye was the first page.”do not read this book straight through from beginning to end!” this just makes me want to read the book more. And you can read the book up to 36 different times and always have a different ending.

What I wonder about is if the curse is real how can you actually break it. If you can how can it be broken? For how long has it been going on? This chapter part three ended with Jane being found by the main  character. And they went out of the house. But thats what keeps me wondering is there really a curse and how did she go out of the house with out anything bad happening to her or someone. How did the lady stay there with out dying and people said that no body lived there.

Blog 3 The mystery Chimney Rock

thought that this part of the book was much funnier than the first part. Why? Well because you (me) is afraid of the old wrinkly lady in a black dress. “You round the corner and encounter a slim, tall, elderly woman dressed in a black. Her face is wrinkle. but her green eyes are sharp. Her nee seems darker than the rest of her face. Her head slopes  back, and her reddish -white hair is swept back in a bun. She stares at you with hatred in her eyes, and you stare back, determined not to turn your eyes away.” I thought this was funny because the main character is afraid of an old lady who has a cat and that everyone  else thinks that this house the main character is in is cursed. I like this new part of the book. And I think you would to.
I disliked the ending of this part because it gusted finished with “don’t be afraid. I am your friend. You have freed me from the witch’s curse!” What do you mean? Where is Mrs.Bigley?” you ask. She died, yesterday,” he replies,” for the last time.” The End.” That was a sucky ending cause it had no more mystery to it. But also it was funny when the guy said “She died yesterday” I think that the main character must have been shocked because she was just looking at Mrs.Bigley a while ago before the guy came.

Blog 2 first part of The Mystery of Chimney Rock

“The Mystery of Chimney Rock” by; Edward Packard was the book I read and its a mystery book. When it comes to reading this book you really have to put your mind into it as if you where the person because than you get lost. What I really liked was how when you would read a page you would have several choices to choice from to continue on the mystery trail of the house. Like in the first page of the book “Your not kidding?” you ask  “If you think we’re kidding” Michael says, “why don't you go inside?” “If you say, “I’ll do it,” turn to page 4. If you say “no thanks,” turn to page 6” as you can see from these lines it has a mystery twist to it that makes you keep on reading. This book makes me feel like a character and just want to wonder around to see what happens. I like that I can pick what happens next in the book and how it ends. And that i can reread the book and always choose a different way to go through the book.

“The Mystery of Chimney Rock” by; Edward Packard. I did like this book at the beginning but as I started to continue to read it the book shortly started to end. Which in some cases I like when the book ends fast but I was  just starting to like the book. I part why I liked it was because the choices it gave me it just kept keeping me feel more and more connected. And the part that kept me upset was when I choice the wrong option and the book ended with the next page. I think the book either way it ended in a bad place its alright because then I can go back and choose different choices. Which most people would like.

Hidden child from the holocaust

Blog 1- paragraph 1

Hidden child of the holocaust by Stacy Cretzmeyer. What I really found interesting was that in the book is divided in to two parts. And the first part is what really caught my attention because in most Holocaust books that i have read none say anything about non-jewish people accept jews. But in the book it really gave a good and realistic picture of how the Germans were. In the beginning of the book is where its talks about how most non-jewish accepted the jewish but most people who accepted the jew hated what the Germans were doing and would risk there own lives to save the life of others from being killed or send off to the concentration camps. “It was my turn to confide in ruth that as a fifth grader I had heard the personal account of a catholic woman who had sheltered Jewish families during the early years of the war. She wand her husband had smuggled many families to “safe houses” and eventually attracted the attention of gestapo agents. The  woman had been tortured by the Nazis in an effort to force her to disclose the whereabouts of her husband. Her fingernails were torn out one by one by her Nazi persecutors but the woman never confessed.Unfortunately her husband was eventually captured and murdered by the Nazis.” This shows that people really did not like what the Nazi were doing people sacrificed themselves to save the life of many others.

Blog 1 paragraph 2

I think that the author wrote this book because she wanted to let people know that what Nazi were doing was bad and that its unacceptable to hurt people just because of there religion. Another thing people really like talking about the Holocaust because you can just write about how you feel and if you agree on the the teller.  Also Stacy wanted to know much more about how her teachers past was. But some past are just better left in the past and maybe thats why it gave Stacy wanted to study about the holocaust and how the teacher made it out alive and away form the Nazi. Stacy really wanted to know about the teachers past so she went to France to see if there are still people alive who would accept the jewish or if there was nuns cause most nun accepted the homeless jewish kids and change there religion so the kids didn't get killed.
